When Fred Halpern took over Albert's in 1960, the business faced significant challenges. Through determination, long hours, and a commitment to treating customers right, he transformed a struggling store into one of the region's most trusted jewelry destinations.

More Than 100 Years of Albert's
1905
The Beginning
Albert's Jewelers opens its doors in East Chicago, Indiana, laying the foundation for what would become one of the region's most recognized family-owned jewelry stores.
1960–1968
A New Generation
Fred Halpern takes over Albert's and begins rebuilding the business. In 1968, Fred and Donna marry on Valentine's Day, a tradition still celebrated at Albert's today.
1987–2002
Building the Brand
The iconic "See You at Albert's" slogan is introduced. Joshua Halpern joins the business, Albert's Diamond Jewelers is officially established, and the store relocates to Schererville in 2002.
2010–Today
Continuing the Legacy
Joshua Halpern becomes President of Albert's Diamond Jewelers. The showroom expands, the brand continues to grow, and generations of families continue to celebrate life's milestones with Albert's.
